Most young kids are out enjoying life. They’re playing tag with their friends, playing video games, partaking in sports or riding their bikes. However, one 8-year-old boy from North Carolina is doing something absolutely incredible and inspiring with his life. At just 8 years old, he has literally became a philanthropist.
This little boy, William Winslow, fights childhood hunger in his local community with food drives, which brings in thousands of pounds of food and monetary donations.
For his 7th birthday, he didn’t want gifts. He wanted donations to give to a hunger relief program known as BackPack Buddies.
“I can’t stand the thought of my classmates being hungry,” says William.
William was able to collect 1,400 pounds of food and over $300 with his first food drive in 2013.
So far in 2014, he’s collected more than 3,000 pounds of food and $3,000 in donations.
