Nathan Shields, a talented illustrator and math teacher currently living as a stay-at-home dad in Saipan, will teach you just how awesome it can be to play with your food. He uses his expert illustration skills to create surprisingly detailed pancake drawings that are as beautiful as they are delicious. As if we needed another reason to love pancakes!
I sure hope Shields’ kids love pancakes, because his creativity knows no bounds. From Star Wars characters to extinct marine organisms to mathematical fractals, he draws it all – and he probably draws better with pancake batter than most of us do with pen or pencil.

PANCAKE APES! [ Pancake Art ]
These go well with bananas. http://www.fb.com/saipancakes || http://www.saipancakes.com Music by Casey Alexander: http://wargames1989.bandcamp.com/
Kids learn best when they’re having fun, so it certainly helps that the majority of Shields’ crazy pancakes are reasonably accurate representations of different species of both marine and land-based organisms. They get to learn and have a delicious breakfast (or lunch or dinner) at the same time. Share with others if you’re inspired by Nathan’s creativity.
