Who would you want little girls to look up to in the world? Women who work hard and achieve great things, presumably – and someone who is NOT Miley Cyrus?
Cue photographer Eunique Jones, who created the year-long project “Because of Them, We Can.” Jones considered the most powerful, accomplished and influential women in history. She then dressed several young girls as these public figures and photographed them alongside famous quotes from the women.
Rightfully so, Jones thought this was an important way to build young girls’ self-esteem by connecting them in a creative way to these women we know as heroes.
Though many have lost their way in today’s society, if we could all think like Eunique Jones, our children would grow up to be much more powerful, independent and influential women in the world that matter.
