This 4-Year-Old Makes Paper Dresses With Her Mom — And They Keep Getting More Amazing

Angie and her 4-year-old daughter, whom she only refers to as Mayhem, have found an awesome way to bond by creating creative paper dresses together and posting them on their blog – Fashion by Mayhem.

To save her own clothing from Mayhem’s grasp, Angie suggested that they make Mayhem a dress out of paper. Since then, they’ve created a blog and an Instagram account to highlight their stylish creations. The dresses are made of paper, bags, tape, glue and other common household items. As a rule, they try to reuse as much of their materials as they can and try to spend money only on glue and tape.

The dresses started off very simple…

Mayhem even created one all on her own…

The dresses got better and better as Angie and her daughter gained more experience in paper dress making.

Construction paper isn’t the only paper Mayhem and her mom use. They also use tissue paper, gift bags, aluminum foil, and other pliable pieces of items – paper or not.

The inspiration for the dresses came from the aquarium to books to TV shows and movies.

Mayhem really enjoys re-creating dresses from the red carpet…I’m surprised these aren’t sold for hundreds or thousands of dollars like the originals!

Surprisingly enough, mommy says she has no background in dress design or fashion – she claims that tape and paper is about as much as she wants to take on. And although Mayhem tends to wear the dresses for only 5-10 minutes, that’s not the point, says Angie – “the dress making is more about spending time with my favorite pint sized person everyday and watching her learn and grow.”

If you’re interested in keeping up-to-date with all of Mayhem’s fashion, you can watch their blog or follow them on Instagram. And don’t forget to share these extravagant pieces of beauty with friends who have kids…maybe they’ll start a similar activity for special bonding time.
